Computer science took me a while to click. I got a C in Python early on, and it showed me exactly where to put my effort.
A few changes made the difference. I started asking questions sooner. I rebuilt small programs from scratch instead of rereading my notes. And I got more patient with bugs, which is most of the job anyway.
Then came AP Cybersecurity. I finished the class with an A− and scored a 4 on the AP exam.
Where I started told me where to work. It never set a limit on where I could end up.
Some classes still ask more of me than others, and I've gotten good at planning for that. Working hard and being capable go together.
